Short Green Milkweed (Asclepias viridiflora), AKA Green Comet Milkweed, is commonly found in dry prairies and oak barrens. Similar in appearence to orange butterfly weed, but with a greenish-white blossom and the typical bitter white sap of the common milkweed. Benificial to butterflies like the Monarch and other insects. Prefers open sunny areas with dry sandy soils. Can take 3 to 4 seasons to mature under the best conditions.
